A status instead of a promise
Two rules that turned out to be one: do not create sections nobody maintains, and do not replace a state with the word “soon”.

A section without a stream of materials works against the site within a year: it displays the date the project stopped being cared for. Better fewer sections, each with someone maintaining it.
The same mistake lives in words. “Soon”, “shortly”, “we are back” say nothing about state and age at the moment of publication. A status is something checkable, and a date next to it makes it honest.

On this site the rule is applied to itself: every material carries a status and a date, and the main domain is marked as in development, with no month promised.
